⚠ FBAR Compliance Requirements:

As required under the Bank Secrecy Act, U.S. persons who fail to file an FBAR (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts) may face significant civil and criminal penalties. A willful failure to file an FBAR can result in a civil penalty of up to the greater of $100,000 or 50% of the balance in the unreported account(s) at the time of the violation. Non-willful violations may be subject to penalties of up to $10,000 per violation, with potential adjustments for inflation.

Criminal penalties for willfully failing to file an FBAR can include fines of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment for up to five years. Additional penalties may apply if violations are part of a pattern of illegal activity.
